A dreamy and enigmatic vignette of displaced animals, menacing lights in the sky, and two young women stranded in an abandoned country house. Despite not sharing a common language, they grow closer and form a unique unspoken intimacy.
Director’s Vision for ‘Visitors’
I’ve always been a fan of science fiction. As a music video director I’ve stolen so much from this genre. And as much as I love watching aliens blow up the White House, I’ve often wondered what kind of stories could be told from those far away from the action. Like for instance, in the Australian outback.
Visitors speculates on a “smaller” experience that might transpire, an exploration that employs the grandiose backdrop of an extraterrestrial arrival to tell a more touching and playful story. For me, it was an exciting opportunity to utilise the mind-bending aesthetics of sci-fi whilst remaining grounded in the everyday.
