Science Fiction Filmmaking 101

This is an in-depth yet straight to the point – master class about science fiction filmmaking, covering all the key steps from script breakdown, budgeting and scheduling, pre-production, production, post-production, deliverables and marketing.

This is a series of classes for students coming out of film school or university, or aspiring filmmakers looking to make their first feature, or existing independent filmmakers who are keen to step into the world of independently produced, high concept science fiction films.

You may also, just be a fan of science fiction films or just someone that has an interest in the filmmaking process in general.

This is an exclusive course taught by experienced filmmaker Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull, where you will see behind the scenes and learn insightful knowledge on how he pulled off the high concept filmmaking in his sci-fi feature films.

HaZ is known for his breakout sci-fi indie feature film – THE BEYOND, which was released by Gravitas Ventures, and premiered at #2 on the iTunes charts before trending on Netflix. His second feature film 2036: ORIGIN UNKNOWN, which starred Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), earned a limited theatrical release in the United States.

In Television, he directed the pilot for Disney’s action comedy mini-series – FAST LAYNE, and was also credited as creative consultant on the entire series. He directed three additional episodes when he wowed Disney channel executives with his vision for the 8-part series.

He was then hired by Disney Channel Original Movies to direct the bridge short film – UNDER THE SEA – ‘A Descendants story’ which takes place between Descendants 2 & 3.
