As Olivia scrambles to save her life, it turns out things are not quite what they seem.

Sweet and pure, Ostinato takes us straight to the point in a short and very affective film. We follow Olivia, a bank employee, who goes about her day as if it were any other. That is until 3 armed men burst through the front door. As Olivia scrambles to save her life, it turns out things are not quite what they seem.

Ryan Robins’ suspenseful short was created for a 48 hour film project, where filmmakers are forced to write, produce and edit a film with a tight 48 hour span.

As always, with 48 hour films races you are pushed to the limit, being forced to incorporate required elements, write, shoot and edit all in a 48 hour period. On top of everything else, it is a wonderful bonding experience for both cast and crew and we absolutely just love making films.

48 hour projects usually tempt to cut corners in production, whether it’s on lighting or in editing, but Robins crafted a highly valued production with much attention to detail. This of course all comes from a well executed plan right from the start, which becomes clearly visible in the end result. Robins also used the film to test out some new firmware:

I wanted a project to test out the Magic Lantern Mark III Raw firmware and it seemed like the perfect test with such a quick turnaround.

The entire film feels like your in a dream, but one of those dreams that feel so real that you feel the pain. Excellent work by Ryan and his team to create this flawless feel in such a short time period.
