Exploring the lost connection with the inner self and the lack of solitude caused by all the modern world’s social pressures and overuse of social media
‘Fear of Missing In’ reverses the popular slang FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and puts the focus on a journey that goes inwards, towards the self, told through a dream-like visual experience. FOMI is an experimental short film that explores the lost connection with the inner self and the lack of solitude caused by all the modern world’s social pressures and overuse of social media.
This project is special for me, and its making came as a surprise. During my time of living in Bangkok, I met the DP, Martin Landsburg. A few weeks later he agreed to shoot a script that I had in mind. On this note, I pitched the script around the city, ending up to work with Umoon Productions, one of the most renowned production companies in Thailand. Another great surprise was Ting Sue, a very talented thai actress on the rise.
The music was an important aspect from the start, and was lucky enough to have the possibility to work with two talented people – Simon Webster (UK) music composer, and Bogdan Dumitru (RO), electronic music producer. They worked from different countries and still managed to create some great tracks.
