A Simple Plan tells an emotionally charged story of children trapped and forced to work in a textiles factory. In the film, all hope looks lost until a young child worker hatches a plan. Directed by Ash Bolland, the story provides a commentary on the role that consumers can play in making a difference to end modern day slavery through awareness and action. Created with the help of MTV EXIT, a campaign that produced an array of programming in multiple formats including music videos, documentaries, short fictional films, live event programmes. It was first released as music video.
The music video was screened at grass roots pop-up open-air screenings in villages across Asia – to help kids understand that these factories are not the golden ticket they are lead to believe. It’s very moving when you see 800 plus kids at a pop up screening, with generators brought into these little towns and eyes wide open watching the screen..
