It’s fundamentally about loss and how we try to reconcile such a vague and mysterious concept. The whole piece has a lot of word play to help follow the philosophical path and each character the hero encounters is vital to his journey. I’m a huge fan of film noir and I liked the idea of a detective that sets out to solve existential mysteries that are brought on by a heartbreaking loss. It was also my first foray into animation which is this incredible tool for story tellers. I never left my bedroom!
