Director’s Vision for ‘HŏSa’

What has inspired me and appalled me in equal measure is the unrelenting work ethic and unimaginably high pain threshold of the Korean people. Subjecting themselves to such unending punishment cannot be sustained.

This is a love letter to my people suffering and toiling in their daily grind. To simply dull out the pain and to, “work hard and play harder,” is just not good enough. This is an exhortation to break free from the shackles and run toward a fulfilling life that awaits.
