Director’s Vision for ‘Signal’

This film was made in and around Toronto, Canada at the height of the Covid-19 lockdowns. Resources were extremely scarce during those weeks, but we were able to get a very small group of creatives together. We quickly realized that in order to satisfy our creative objectives and visual standards in the face of such limiting obstacles, story structures would have to adapt and ultimately, relax. And so while Signal’s roots are undoubtedly sci-fi, we lean further into the experimental and arthouse realm than ever before.
