Director’s Statement

I wanted to capture a loaded moment, a meaningful vignette about a character in emotional crisis. Thus, I created Alma: a weary old woman who simply cannot move on. Though “Leaves” is only eight minutes, we learn a great deal about this character: her glorified past, delusional present, and doomed future.
