Cabarrus details a glimpse into the life of a struggling family in North Carolina.
Director’s Vision
Cabarrus came to be through the passing of two of my childhood friends by drug overdose. Filmmaking allows me to confront what I experience in my life, good or bad. I wanted to make a film about the reality of substance abuse that hopefully also captures other intense struggles that low income families face daily. This film was created through tragedy, and my hope is that it arrests the viewer into a better understanding of what life is like for those who live on the fringes of society.
