Desperate to feel like a regular kid, a boy with epilepsy goes to prom knowing that the lights will make him have a seizure. Drawn from director Miles Levin’s real life experience with epilepsy.

Director Vision for ‘Under The Lights’

I was diagnosed with epilepsy at age four. In my teens I cam to learn just how common epilepsy is. 1 in 26 people, and no one is talking about it. I would get up on stage at awareness events year after year and notice that the only people that come to show support for a disease are those who have it, or love someone with it. The only place in culture where people actually want to hear a voice they haven’t heard from before is cinema and television. I wanted to use my story to make a difference for a massive, invisible demographic, for which the stigma is truly awful. The response has been incredible, and I am so grateful to everyone involved. I’ve written the feature length film and I can’t wait to get started. I hope you’ll stay in the loop at underthelightsfilm.com !
