As a desperate man tries to raise the money he owes a dangerous criminal, he finds something in the woods that will change him forever.
Director’s Vision for ‘Bugbear’
BUGBEAR was made as a reaction to lockdown during the middle of the pandemic in the UK. When safe to do so, we decided to make something out of nothing on a shoestring budget, relieving the helpless feeling we had against the onslaught of Covid19.
The film is about a bad situation in someone’s life, but also about masks, both literal and metaphorical; about how an action (deliberate or not) can change you for better or worse. The title refers to both the noun bugbear (a cause of obsessive fear, anxiety, or irritation) and the archaic name of a mythical monster in the woods.
