Director’s Vision for ‘Barry Gettin’ Married’
This film originated as part of the 48 Hour Film Project, a whirlwind competition where we had just 48 hours to make a movie from scratch. We had no idea what kind of film we’d be creating until we received our prompts the night before. With our crew and a few actors ready to go, it wasn’t until the evening before filming that the idea for Barry Gettin’ Married came together. The challenge required us to include three specific elements: 1) the use of a mirror, 2) a character named Colton, who happens to be a chef, and 3) the line, “Look what I did.”
Despite the time crunch, we filmed the entire movie the next day. After the competition, we continued refining the project, ultimately completing this full 10-minute version. We’re excited to partner with Film Shortage to bring it to audiences. Barry Gettin’ Married is a perfect example of what happens when a group of passionate creatives come together, trust the process, and have fun—even when you don’t know the story until the night before. With the right team, anything is possible!
