Harry, a repressed yet intelligent man, is bed bound in hospital, where he avoids any unnecessary interaction with those around him. Before developing pneumonia, he was a well-respected doctor, but his self-destructive behaviour has led to his severe illness. A new patient called Jack is then admitted to the same room. Jack is slightly older with a lively, positive ‘get up and go’ attitude. He is a slim and humble looking man. Jack is compassionate and not a man to turn away from anyone. He sees the pain and distress that Harry is in, despite not being able to strike up a conversation with him. Therefore, Jack makes it his plan to break through to Harry, making him realise that life should not be wasted away in suffering…… especially when it is possibly so short.
