Director’s Vision for ‘Would You?’

Initially conceived of as a conduit for my anxious attachment style, a Frankensteining of Kafka’s Metamorphosis and the meme wherein girlfriends ask their boyfriends if they’d still love them were they to turn into a worm, “Would You?” explores one huge and heavy heart upon which the worm question weighs.

I am grateful to have found this heart, this alternate angle through which to explore the otherwise callous-appearing response, through the inimitable, insurmountable, impeccable, impenetrable talent of co-writer, co-producer, co-editor, and lead actor Kyle Matthew, as well as the titanium-clad cast and crew who all, through their time and dedication, said “yes” to the question of, “would you still bare to be around Autumn if she asked you to do something completely ridiculous for 12 hours?”

“Would You?” vignettes a true love — or rather, an honest love. Even through this ‘absurd hypothetical situation,’ as Megan calls it, I’d like to think that others will find bits and bobs of themselves and their current (or past) relationships within, as well as fertile foundation for their own self-grown hypotheticals.
