“Where The Sun Goes To Die” follows a desperate man who trades pieces of his past for alcohol and sex, in a mysterious resort where memories are currency.
Director’s Vision
Sun has many things on its mind. Eternal recurrence. Spiritual consumerism. Memory and identity. Regret and guilt. The shedding of self. Shangri-la. Desire. Vulnerability and intimacy.
It’s a slow burn, fever dream that tries to explore all of this in a unique and resonating narrative and aesthetic manner.
Furthermore, it is my goal that by casting Latinx actors in the primary roles we can continue to transcend expectations of what a “Latino story” looks and feels like. We want to show that the Latino experience IS the human experience. That strong, confident, and nuance Latinx performers and creators can move beyond the oversimplifications.
