When a young filmmaker starts a relationship with a woman who only opens up while on camera, he struggles to make a genuine connection in the midst of her performances. Shot in a documentary style, the film is a reflection on truth versus performance in early relationships and the indecipherable grey space that lies in between.
Director’s Vision
While making fictional work, I strive to make content that explores the malleability of truth in personal relationships–examining the way in which stories both affirm and distort the truths we tell ourselves. Ultimately, with ‘Unread Image,’ my team and I have created a docufiction film that hints at the question: to what extent are our relationships ever actually “real”?
