A movement artist of over 50 years, Yayoi Hirano (古い) has performed on stages across Europe, Asia, and North America.

One of the few female wooden mask makers in the world, Yayoi brings her own sensibilities and approach to her craft. She fuses Japanese and Western dance with French Miming, to tell stories across cultures. In “The Mime,” Yayoi reflects on the lessons of creativity and life as a performer.
