A vampire finds a therapist to help him kick his blood addiction.

Director’s Vision for ‘The Living’

“The Living” follows Nicole, a young therapist trying to prove herself, as she treats a dangerous vampire alone in the woods. It explores themes of addiction, family, and what makes us human, through a horror-comedic lens. I’ve always been interested in the ways our fears interplay with fantasy and expectation to both reflect and affect our subjective experience and the reality of our lives. I’ve explored these themes in past shorts, but this film takes it further because of the supernatural element, exploring questions of mortality, vulnerability, and what it really means to be alive.
