Once upon a time, in a far off made-up kingdom known as Italy, an itinerant swordsman named Fiore quests across the countryside in search royal employment, followed by his trusty apprentice Niccolo, a girl disguised as a boy. Fiore may be a master of swords, but he’s not altogether sharp when it comes to surviving in the real world. Will he prove too clueless to save their skins when they walk into an ambush?

The Guberek Brothers’ inspiration for THE FLOWER OF BATTLE came from a real historical figure, an Italian sword-master named Fiore de’i Liberi who left behind an influential fighting manual. The Guberek Brothers reimagined his story as a classic “Swashbuckler” in the vein of The Princess Bride and Don Quixote that would bring joy to a modern audience.
