A short film about the rise in global anxiety across disparate communities and how we respond to tragedy and fear through the use of social media.
Director’s Notes
A constant feeling of fear and anxiety has been building amongst many Americans (and abroad). There is constantly something to fear, climate change, economic crises, domestic and international terrorism, hate groups, war, mass deportation, gentrification, and because the media focuses heavily on negative news, this constant bombardment of fear can make people feel completely helpless, tense, anxious. As an artist, I am interested in the creative expression of those anxieties. That’s why I sought to create #prayfor, to give expression to those sentiments. In this tumultuous time, there is room for anger, rage, laughter, love, tears. There is room for letting go.
