Director’s Vision for ‘Intimacy Workshop’
INTIMACY WORKSHOP is about the pitfalls of masculinity, focusing on a group of men who have been failed by its promise of dominion. It’s interested in the stunted ways men learn to express themselves, and how that can manifest in both aggressive extremes and a straining need for connection. In response to the myriad of queer stories that have been told by straight people, this film aims to reverse the camera angle and cast a subjectively queer gaze on the heterosexual male experience.
