An exploration into the world of someone’s psyche and how they find the words to explain the way they are viewing the world around them.

Director’s Vision for ‘In My Mind’

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. Many people still don’t know where to turn or may not recognise that they are struggling. Having someone to talk to can provide some respite and even save lives.

I wanted to create a film that raises awareness to the importance of conversation. An exploration into the world of someone’s psyche and how they find the words to explain the way they are viewing the world around them. We never see who he is talking to – the message being anyone can be that person, a shoulder to lean on. By talking and seeking support he is in fact one step to closer to finding that beauty in the real world.

The importance of conversation about mental health is important now more than ever and charities like Mind are leading the fight for better mental health.
