“Haptic” is a visual poem exploring human touch and connection purely through visuals and sound.
“Haptic” originally was a synonym for tactile in the medical field, and has since taken on the broader definition of the “science of touch.” By the early 20th century, it had developed a psychological sense, describing individuals whose perception supposedly depended primarily on touch rather than sight. I intended to portray thematically this idea of dependency on physical touch. A dependency which transcends age groups. Touch as a gateway to friendship, love, and grief. The purity of the images allows the viewer to maintain their own perspective without being influenced by narration.
Director’s Vision for ‘Haptic’
The creation of this film was my attempt to explore human touch and connection purely through visuals and sound.
