Director’s Vision

GIRLSAM looks into the lives of individuals within the queer community, those who experience struggle or pain in speaking up to loved ones. It is hard for some people to speak up concerning their identity and sexual orientation. Many are afraid of losing family or friends when speaking up about themselves. In the film, the main character Sam is struggling to find the courage to communicate their struggles to their girlfriend Dana, and finds themselves on a search for the strength to speak up, ultimately finding this courage rewarded. We need to encourage and strengthen the queer community with more stories that portray us accurately and positively.
