Down Again is an exploration of the connection between mental illness and creativity told through the lens of photographer and Chimaira frontman Mark Hunter. The film explores the catharsis of making music and art and how the result affects the fans.
Down Again is a very personal project to me. As a young kid in Cleveland who dealt with serious issues from bipolar, metal music was my escape, and in particular Chimaira. I connected with the music in a primal way. To be able to use someone like Mark as an allegory for those who suffer from mental affliction was an honor, and hopefully we can shine some light on the recent celebrity suicides and prevent new ones from happening.
