Following the death of his daughter, John encounters haunting visions that force him to come to terms with his past.
Director’s Vision
Blood Debt was a work of passion, made with no money and a bare bones crew. In horror it’s a fairly common trope for the protagonist to deal with psychological repercussions for purposely taking someone’s life, but in Blood Debt I thought it would be interesting to explore what happens to a protagonist dealing with the aftermath of accidentally taking someone’s life, in an effort to protect them. Thankfully, it was a concept that seemed to resonate with everyone involved, and despite the low budget we had an amazing cast and crew. I’ve done “monster” horror shorts before, but with Blood Debt I wanted to try something a little bit deeper with more of a lasting impression. Hopefully the viewers enjoy and thanks to Film Shortage for showcasing the short!
