Director’s Vision for ‘Aya With Him’
As a filmmaker, I believe cultivating authentic representation is not only a social responsibility but also a creative necessity. For me, cultivating nuanced representations is about telling stories that are authentic and relatable to audiences from all backgrounds. In this film Aya with Him, I wanted to bring to light the experiences and struggles of a Muslim couple, and shine a light on the beauty and complexity of our differences as human beings.
