Director’s and Writer’s Vision for ‘A Grade Students’

Cameron Perry (Director) – It’s amazing what can push us over the edge – a bad word, a sly comment, or even a gherkin! A Grade Students explores the dark imagination of two school girls, propelled by desperation and peer pressure, through a comedic lens. We bring a tactile element to their plot in animation and graphic textures and we show their wild juvenile ideas in the sound effects and production design. Now you’re sat in the bedroom. You’re reading the plans in their diary – will they go through with the heinous act? Or will this blueprint be another paper ball in the bin?

Sam Briggs (Writer) – Sometimes life can feel very serious and very long. Which is why we set out to create something very short and very silly! The exam pressure placed on school aged children is (all together now) absolutely bat-sh*t mental. It really is testament to them that teenagers manage to hold it all together. But what if they didn’t, what if they cracked? Could they commit to a nefarious plot to kill their teacher, when they can barely commit to an hour of revision? Perhaps. Hopefully if I never turn on the news, I’ll never find out.
