Āmua is a 2014 semi-autobiographical short film that follows the story of Teina, a 17-year-old boy who, despite his big heart and big dreams, is fast becoming the hopeless product of a destructive and volatile South Auckland upbringing. Blessed with an opportunity to play for one of Australia’s most prestigious Rugby League schools, Teina finds himself struggling to release the ghetto temptations and attitudes of his past and secure a scholarship that will ultimately save him from a failed future.
