The Weekend Shortlist

This week we are proud to present a new feature on FilmShortage.com; The Weekend Shortlist. Each weekend we will post a small selection of short films that we believe are watchworthy. Kind of our own little Staff Picks.

FilmShortage has grown quickly over the last 6 months and we are receiving more and more films each day. With this the quality of the films submitted has also gotten better, therefore making our selection process even more difficult. But out of so many films that we are not able to feature, are films that we strongly believe deserve to be seen. This is why we decided to show you even more films, without hurting the integrity of the weekly featured shorts.

Here are the first examples of what will be filling your weekend short film void in the future!

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

W A R

by madeinhollywood

A simply visually stunning short, accentuating on amazing color contrasts and movement. Starring Nana Agyapong and created by madeinhollywoodusa, a directed and dp duo, Jeff Consiglio and Alexandre Naufel. Coercive macro shots are brought together through colors, heart pounding sounds and famous words by Leonard Cohen ‘why don’t you come on back to the war, don’t be a tourist’.

Further Up Yonder

by Giacomo Sardelli

This short is made by our good Italian friend Giacomo Sardelli, director of featured short film ‘The Ambulance‘ on Film Shortage. The film is a timelapse message from the International Space Station to all Humankind. He used pictures taken from the ISS to tell a story and share the message sent by the astronauts who worked on the station in the last 11 years.
