Varken is a psychological surreal short film about the human nature of being an animal. It follows a girl in the trough of 21st century unemployment who starts to believe and act on the feeling that deep down she is a pig…

The film follows her reconciliation with this notion as she slowly tests her new found “identity”. Unable to talk to her boyfriend or her family about it due to the strange and mysterious origins of her inclinations, she is forced to confront it by herself. Strangely, by accepting her new psychological needs she begins to feel something real and honest. Maybe we are all one step away from feeling the same, if we were to accept our animal roots?
