An African-American orphan raised by a Japanese samurai-turned teppanyaki chef, must choose between his strongest desires; avenge his father’s death or protect the only family he’s ever known.
Director’s Statement
“The Konichiwa Kid” is without a doubt the most ambitious project I’ve created. It couldn’t have happened without such a gracious and giving team. From the producers to the production assistants, everyone gave 1000% and I’m eternally grateful. The entire set was built from scratch which was a huge undertaking. This story was crazy to pitch, but I’m lucky so many people believed in the vision. It’s part homage to films that I grew up on like The Karate Kid, and part real life experience at a hibachi restaurant in Georgia. This is only a sample of what’s to come from the feature film currently in the works.
