Director’s Vision for ‘The Fourth Friend’
“The Fourth Friend” is a contained, one shot/one take thriller about a group of friends sitting on an outdoor balcony who slowly begin to feel they are being watched. Shot from the rooftop of a building over 1,000 feet away, the film is recorded in one slow, continuous zoom that moves closer to Sophie and her friends as their unease escalates, putting the audience in the perspective of their mysterious voyeur. The Fourth Friend explores what it means to be watched in a society in which we are constantly seen, and demonstrates both the irony and the consequence that comes with actively putting ourselves on display through social media and the internet.
