Engineer Nora arrives at ‘The Erebus,’ a Tritium harvest site on a remote planet. Her primary role is to supervise two divers, Isaac and Hugo, during routine harvest dives, but her true motive remains hidden from her subordinates. Several weeks earlier, Nora’s younger brother Tris died at the site; his body never recovered. Upon Nora’s arrival, she begins to suffer from severe physiological strain inflicted by an arcane alien species. As she searches for answers, she struggles to maintain her sanity and empathy.
Director’s Vision for ‘The Erebus’
The Erebus was written in early 2022 – but I feel as if it’s a story I’ve been waiting to tell for as long as I can remember. And, in reflection – much of its soul is a feeling I’ve tried to express over the years – in music, illustration, and design.
Connection and isolation, for me, are the heart of The Erebus. Themes that are so vast yet universally relatable. When asking myself who i wrote this story for, the honest answer is — myself. Since i was a child, I’ve battled with intrusive/OCD thought patterns. It is not the pedestal upon which i present this story – but insight into my understanding of isolation, depression and anxiety. The beauty of empathy – something we rarely grant ourselves.
The process of making The Erebus has been nothing short of cathartic. From conception to production – working with such a dedicated, creative team with a shared vision has been vastly rewarding. I am so grateful for each and every person who helped to bring this story to life. I hope you enjoy seeing a peek of what went into The Erebus.
