Directors Statement

At its core ‘The Backup’ is about one thing, self-doubt and that nagging voice in your head that wants to tell you that you can’t do something. The voice that despite evidence to the contrary, insists that you’re going to fail and that whatever you do will never be good enough. The film takes this idea to the extreme by pitting its protagonist against herself in a race to figure out what it is that they may have discovered.
