Director’s Vision for ‘The Audition’

THE AUDITION was born out of conversations between lead actor Eric Galloway and myself surrounding personal life shifts dealing with addiction and relationships, respectively. As we unpacked our own individual experiences we realized that there was something worth telling within that. That spark became this short film, shot in two days in Chicago at the end of December 2021 with a great team. We hope it gives just a small glimpse into the daily reality of what it is to be in recovery, the daily triggers and reminders, the uphill but worthwhile battle against addiction. We hope it resonates.
