Director Statement

There’s something in the water. This idea came to me early one morning and it was the type of muse that I couldn’t shake. I wanted to explore some new visual language that I don’t usually get to on music video / commercial work so I forced myself to keep everything as simple as possible – tone was everything for me on this one. My beautiful friend Thea who plays the Siren(s) happened to be coming into LA from NYC so that muse was working overtime in this films favor. Grateful she was down to crawl around on rocks in the pacific ocean at 4:30am. This is a loose concept but one that has grown exponentially since we shot it – so much so that a sequel is en route and a feature is being developed. Funny what can come from renting a cheap camera, calling in a friend favor, and following a weird early morning thought.
