Director’s Vision for ‘Intrusive’
For Intrusive, I wanted to create a story that explores the experience of living with OCD and anxiety—a subject close to my heart. Having dealt with OCD for years and still managing anxiety, I know firsthand how these struggles can shape one’s reality. This film became a means of personal catharsis, a way to depict the haunting persistence of unwanted thoughts and fears, which can feel as intense as any horror narrative.
The horror genre offers a powerful vehicle for this portrayal because it lets us externalize inner struggles and give form to intangible fears. My aim was to create an environment that feels disorienting and tense, mirroring the claustrophobic effect of OCD and the relentlessness of anxiety. Intrusive is as much a story about battling unseen forces as it is a testament to the resilience it takes to endure them.
