A young girl goes towards a solitary cabin in the middle of the forest. As the days go by and the night approaches, she feels strangely attracted by the light, the atmosphere becomes dark and turbid, and a mysterious madness will trap her all night.

Director’s Notes

Howls has been created as part of the Online Course at Domestika, as a kind of tribute to David Lynch’s cinema. This experimental short film has been created to take care of the atmosphere and the aesthetic in order to introduce the viewer in this surreal, strange and mysterious world, emphasizing the feeling of alienation, solitude and madness. The sound design and the image has been built to generate a hypnotic and dreamlike tone and with a disturbing and beautiful style at the same time.
