In this short film heist musical, a group of friends decide to rob a bank in order to pay for college.

Director’s Vision

Since 1980, the cost of college has increased by 1200%. This film was created to highlight the ever-increasing cost of college in the United States in a light-hearted and entertaining manner.

Highway Robbery was created at Eitan Miller’s BFA thesis film at Emerson College, and premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.

This short film was first written in 2019, and was repeatedly rewritten and altered over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic to keep the cast and crew safe. After a year and a half of pre-production, filming occurred in the Boston area over the course of 6 days. Much of the score was recorded around the world, with contributions from talented instrumentalists from France to India.
