After a severe epileptic attack art student, Cassie, must adapt her life and her art to a disorder that leaves her right hand with a mind of its own.
Director’s Statement
“From Scratch” aims to present an accurate, but compelling, presentation of a complex mental disorder, but it also strives to be a greater metaphor for loss of control and identity in life. We have all experienced the personal insecurity and lack of direction, and at a point in my life when I felt a strong sense of artistic doubt I started writing this film as a form of catharsis. I wanted this story to speak to those who are struggling with circumstances out of their control so to say that eventually a way through it all does emerge.
