Jane takes a job at a diner in an off-season beach town, as an attempt to escape her past. Until one day — everything she’s been running from, walks through the front door.
Director’s Vision for ‘Doe’
Doe explores what it’s like to find yourself in a liminal space. We believe this story could belong to anyone.
Jane embodies the loneliness, uncertainty and relief that come with leaving behind the person who you’ve believed yourself to be and attempting to rewrite your own story. She wrestles with her past, while new friend Jazz wrestles with her future. Together, they help one another to see the fragility and potential within each of them. The quiet off-season beach town, comforting to Jane and agonizing for Jazz, encourages both women to envision change.
