Differently, Still, scored by Badbadnotgood, follows the day in the lives of a young boy who is discovering skateboarding for the first time, and a seasoned professional skateboarder, as their lives intersect.
Writer’s Vision for ‘Differently, Still’
To me, Differently, Still is a combination of all things I’ve loved and pursued for as long as I can remember. Skateboarding, Music and Filmmaking. When I wrote this film, the only thing i had in mind was to honour the first thing I fell in love with – skateboarding. Without over-intellectualizing it, I really just wanted to make a film that encapsulated what it felt like to find skateboarding when I was a kid. It’s been a pleasure to find passion through skateboarding, the community and everything that surrounds it. The entire film was shot on expired 35mm Kodak film which aided in the feeling of nostalgia that I desperately wanted to reproduce for the look of this film. I’m thankful to Paul Shkordoff for donating his time and presence to direct this film, Mark Delotinville of Big Pig for producing this film, and Badbadnotgood for providing the soundtrack to this film. I couldn’t of done it without them.
