Olivia must dissuade her husband Mike from firing their children’s au pair Sofia without revealing her ulterior motives for wanting Sofia to stay.

Director’s Vision

Control is a film about a woman trapping herself in a prison of her own making and scrambling to find the key to her escape.

We made it over a long weekend at a single location with a small crew. We wanted to create something claustrophobic and real, that draws the viewer in and disorients them as the life Olivia’s has carefully built for herself threatens to crumble before her eyes. The script started out as a sort of proof of concept for a feature, and ultimately that’s still where I hope to take it one day, with the ending of this being the ‘inciting incident’.
