A tormented assassin with unique abilities takes on a job that could prove to be her last.
Director’s Vision for ‘Anywhere’
I wanted to depict the internal and external horrors experienced by people who find themselves stuck in a violent and unforgiving world. The long lasting and damaging effects of such lives, including PTSD and suicidal urges. I chose to depict these themes against the backdrop of an action, “superpower,” genre piece to contrast the way in which we typically absorb such media, glorifying and leering. My protagonist isn’t a hero or a villain, she’s someone who hurts and has been hurt. Someone incapable of escaping the cycle, and possibly trapped into believing she doesn’t deserve to.
