Over the years, Vanessa Hudgens has starred in some massive hit movies and has developed an enormous fan following, especially after she starred in the hit High School Musical series.

While she is now a brand ambassador, and starring in several popular Netflix rom-coms, with four other movies currently in production, she has a back catalog of great films you should definitely watch. Here are a few of Vanessa Hudgens’s best movies.

High School Musical

While she had several roles before this, High School Musical was the break that put Vanessa Hudgens on the map. She plays the role of Gabriella Montez, a transfer student trying to navigate her way through her new life while falling for the star athlete and discovering her musical talent.

As mentioned, this is the film that arguably launched her career, with many of the film’s stars becoming hot commodities in Hollywood.

High School Musical 3

While the second High School Musical was loved almost as much as the first, the third one is arguably the best. Hudgens reprises her role as Gabriella and sees the group on the brink of being broken up as they head their separate ways for college.

This was the first High School Musical released in theaters, and with a budget of only $11 million, it raked in over $250 million. Not only was it the biggest film in the series, but it also helped multiple stars expand their careers in the worlds of music and film.

The Frozen Ground

The Frozen Ground is a thriller starring Nicholas Cage, John Cusack, 50 Cent, and Vanessa Hudgens. It’s based on the real-life crimes of an Alaskan serial killer, and sees Hudgens taking on the challenging role of a young woman who almost becomes one of his victims.

The film depicts an Alaskan State trooper, played by Cage, who teams up with Hudgens as they attempt to hunt down the killer. The film received mixed reviews but was a highlight for Hudgens as she broke the mold created by the High School Musical series.

Dog Days

Dog Days is a romantic comedy that is similar to the likes of Love Actually, as you follow a group of people and their dogs as their lives intertwine in Los Angeles. You learn about the trials and tribulations of each person involved, as well as how they help each other.

Hudgens plays the role of Tara, a barista who has fallen for a sophisticated, yet arrogant, vet. However, she is blinded by her infatuation and doesn’t realize that the owner of the animal care center has been in love with her the entire time.

The Princess Switch

Arguably one of her biggest rom-com hits, Hudgens plays the role of both Stacy De Novo and Lady Margaret Delacourt. Stacy is a baker from Chicago, and Lady Margaret is a duchess. The film shows the two having a chance encounter at a baking competition. Realizing that they look alike, the two swap places in order to have a fresh and exciting “new life.”

What follows is a whirlwind of adventure and romance as both Stacy and Lady Margaret fall in love and realize that swapping lives may be exactly what they need to find true happiness.

The Knight Before Christmas

The Knight Before Christmas is another fun and exciting Netflix rom-com starring Hudgens. She plays Brooke Winters, a science teacher from a small town in Ohio. She meets Sir Cole Lyons, a knight from 1334, who was sent from the past to fulfill a “knightly quest.”

Sir Cole can’t figure out what he is meant to do, and Brooke tries to help. In the process, Cole falls in love and unknowingly fulfills his quest. He is sent back to 1334 and possibly never sees Brooke again.

Spring Breakers

Spring Breakers is a comedy crime film that sees Hudgens play the role of Candy. Along with three friends, Candy goes to Florida for Spring Break, and after the group lands in trouble, an eccentric career criminal helps them out.

What follows is a fast descent into the criminal underworld of Florida, and the girls find themselves caught up in far more than they were bargaining for.
