Ten years on from the first instalment, The Fantastic Four are back on the big screen with a brand new director and a brand new cast.
The two previous Fantastic Four movies proved successful at the box office, with Fantastic Four taking in $330million whilst Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer brought in $289million.
The opening weekend hasn’t exactly gone as the film would have hoped, whilst it has taken in $25million at the box office, the film has had some fairly negative reviews. IMDb have scored it 4.0/10 and some critiques have been quick to slate the film especially as new director Josh Trank reportedly spent $120million on production costs. However given that the film is an adaptation of a comic book, there isn’t as much freedom to create a story line as most Hollywood films have.
As well as new director Josh Trank, there is also a brand new cast including; Kate Mara (Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (Human Torch), Jamie Bell (The Thing) and Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic). If you are not sure of the history of the characters then the infographic below gives you some background before seeing the film.
