A doomed warrior, offered a path to redemption, journeys to the heart of the black forest on an execution mission.
Director’s Vision for ‘Wraith’
Wraith is a dark fantasy short inspired by Norse mythology, featuring the largely unexplored cryptid of a Hulder, a seductive yet demonic forest creature. The film unfolds as a non-linear journey, influenced by Heart of Darkness, with a silent protagonist at its core. Shot in the bleakly atmospheric Canadian fall, and enriched by detailed costume design and dialogue rooted in Scandinavian myth, written by fantasy novelist Nick Labonte, Wraith explores themes of redemption and annihilation. The identity of the titular Wraith is left to the viewer—whether it’s the enigmatic protagonist, the Hulder, or the mysterious shaman who sets the events in motion.
