White Tiger Legend is a 20 year journey and feature length animation project telling the story of two boys who lose everything. One boy embraces power and control to survive and becomes a warlord. The other is orphaned at a monastery and turns to Kung Fu. This short and proof of concept shows the events that turned an otherwise innocent boy into a warlord.

Director’s Vision for White Tiger Legend

After working as a visual effects artist on the Matrix Trilogy, Return of the King and Revenge of the Sith, I set out to write a spiritual martial arts odyssey – something like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon meets the Alchemist. I spent four years shopping the script around Hollywood, until after working on Avatar, I just decided to previs the entire film on my own. It took me several years, spending a few months a year on other people’s films, then disappearing for 6 months to build more of the world of White Tiger Legend. I can say, having done it, that it has been easier to make a feature animated film nearly singlehandedly than it has been to get funding. Regardless, I press on, as I know this 115 min film and 20 year journey will be mythic in proportions when it finally hits the big screen!

White Tiger legend tells the story of two boys who lose everything. One becomes a warlord, turning to narcissism and control to survive, and the other becomes an orphan at a Kung Fu monastery. This opening 5 minute sequence tells the story of one of these boys. The rest of the film is previsualized and ready to complete production.
